Sun and Sand

Hi all
I am surprized the carpet by the door is not worn out from the sweeping. We sweep at least 10 times a day and still more sand sneaks. In fact it sneaks everywhere but the worst place is the bed.
Julianna and I are having a good time and looking forward to the arrival of India form the UK.
A local family has adopted us and we spend our evenings trying to learn Arabic . Julianna is a natural at it and my brain is full because I am older. It is fun and makes us wish we could converse better. I have a million questions I want to ask. I will be posting regulary if the internet and power co operate.
in shallah
all is well here and I wish you could all come and see it for yourselves

Packing is an adverture in its own

Packing for Egypt is always an adventure. 100 pounds of stuff divided into 2 cardboard boxes is like putting 10 pounds of sugar into a 5 pound bag. Fitting in clothes for 6 weeks is a challenge because the 100 pounds usually is horse tack, toys, farrier rasps ( nail files for horses) and other assorted stuff for Maryannes farm that can not be found in Egypt. I will confess I keep a lot of personal belongings in Egypt which makes it easier. This is my 3rd time visiting and I am now counting the sleeps. The days are going fast and I will never get everything done on time.

Attempting to Blog again

I am going to attempt to blog my trip to Al Sorat this time instead of using facebook notes. The internet in Egypt is sometimes a little temperamental which is probably an understatement. The local tower is disquised as a huge palm tree at a country club for rich folks and tourists.
